This is definitely the saddest thread in Guru. Above the monster AoE nerf crying.

The crying over a non existent game is just pathetic. PvErs.... wow.... just wow. Can you guys get lower?

All this crying and I bet 9 out 10 will still buy the game - hell probably 2 of the Limited Edition. And will beg and cry some more to be in Beta. Yet will cry again for some other reason.

People vent. Venting is a way to let the developers know what they like/dislike about the game. And the people who's venting have every rights to. They'll be the same people who may or may not buy the future game. Those who keeps silent will just go away and move on. Those who vent wants changes or something implemented which may or may not happen. Would be interesting to see how Anet plans on retaining the user base when the game will be 2 years away. Even these weekly events gets quite boring and pointless sometimes. I'm expecting some of us to just move on to something else by then...

I'll say it again. I think in two years, people won't really care too much about having to leave their characters and their equipment. I think we'd be sick of them by then, especially since there's supposed to be no major expansion/chapter after GW:EN. We'll all be looking forward to starting from scratch in a different setting.

Also, "wannabe forum hero" has got to be the lamest insult I've seen on these boards.

Well, I believe there is a big difference between constructive criticism, and just whining. Just whining accomplishes nothing, except for derailed threads and flamefests. Which of course I expect and am prepared for on a free, open forum. I just don't believe it does any good.

Now, stating specific dislikes and suggesting solutions is an excellent way to both vent AND add something constructive to the conversation.

(BTW, these are just general observations, and not directed specifically at you or any other poster).

As for the idea of people just quitting GW until GW2 comes out: totally agree and expect it.

But, just because someone doesn't play for two years, doesn't mean they won't be buying Guild Wars 2. In fact, they might be MORE inclined to do so after taking a 2 year break. "Oh, yeah, Guild Wars. That was fun. I should check this out."

Of course, there will also be those who play non-stop, and get all the goodies that can possibly transfer over to Guild Wars 2 through GW:EN.

It takes all kinds...

Speaking of economy... Don't forget that the pricing of items in GW just doesn't reflect the item's proper value. And I'm sure the WTS/WTB in game or elsewhere occurs because of such pricing discrepancies. Less spam in game is always more enjoyable. Is that going to be fixed? Or will their rare items continue to fetch a merchant value of 300g and a more common item 500g? LOL. If it won't be fix, expect GW2 economy to be a repeat cycle of GW1. Probably would be best to make an auction house or fixed the merchant to offer rare item(s) their proper value.

This thread is starting to look just like the official Wow forums, nothing but whiners and little kids...

To all those who already/are going to quit, just because GW2 has now been announced... it really doesn't take much does it? If you people honestly don't care enough about GW to still play another 2 years (or however long it is until it's released) then by all means, quit. This is a game, it's entertainment, and if you can't get any enjoyment out of it because you might have to switch to another game in 2 YEARS, then I really have to ask why the hell you even play games to begin with.

"Oh, I don't think I'm gonna watch this movie, cause you know... I'm gonna die some day, so it's pointless to watch it, I'd just be wasting my time".

Do us all a favor, quit, go away, and spare us your pointless whining (yes, I'm whining as well, I know)

I'd go so far to say if there is not an auction house in Guild Wars 2, I won't be buying it.

Period. WTB/WTS is the most annoying thing to me about the present Guild Wars...

Let's leave the whiners alone, me included. I believe everyone who cares enough to whine still cares enough about the game and any future developments regarding it. I'm going to be setting the game aside soon. These weekly events aren't enough to keep me coming back for more. Already preordered the new C&C game to keep me busy for some time. Going to wait it out until a demo to see whether it's worth spending my money on or not. GW1 was fun while it lasted. GW2, I can only hope... And yes, sometimes old games like WC3 and others are worth playing again after some time off.

I wouldnt go as far as saying I wouldnt buy GW2 if there were no auction house to stop the trade spam. I'm not even sure that would stop the spam.

But yeah the spam is damn annoying and most people keep their local off because of it. It's too bad the same problems will likely still be in GW2.

Did you know that sooner or later you will die? It's inevitable, so you may as well stop living right now.

Kudos to ANET for giving me the opportunity (GW2) to, not only keep playing, but also retire my GW1 chars with grace and allow them to leave a legacy via EotN. That kind of closure is a great gesture... which may be beyond the grasp of a pubescent whiner.

If you had fun playing GW1 then call it time well spent and be thankful. Sooner or later it's going to be time to move on ...to the next great adventure.

Im going to get quoted on this I know it.

whoa I almost forgot -.- without Undressed around..but here.

@topic
In GW2 the higher my level gets in pve Ill be able to kill the really high level npcs much easier so when Im level 100..The level 200 T-Rex im trying to tame wont eat me right? right? And When my pet levels up it grows wing and I can fly it? can it be yellow...maybe a dinosaur..with wings!! yeeeeah!

go on quote me..I know one of you is dying to. I know its fun because I do it too.
I am sorry that my opinion doesn't mirror yours. I just wanted to clear up, that when I said that I had no chance in "overtaking" a level 28 mob, I was talking about overtaking them in level, not in battle. Skills and tactics, and teams can and have helped to overtake mobs in battle, but none of us have been able to overtake them in level.

Again I mean no disrespect or anything, I respect your opinion, and express my own.

Well at least GW will be around for a while...

Honestly, the level cap was one of GW strenghts and now elitism has gotten too them. I could care less how long "someone else" has been playing the game. Or their need to show it off. Even if it turns out to be just cosmetic people will find a way to abuse it.

Besides that crap GW2 sounds cool.

But IMHO GW2 sounds more like a GW for people who lurked around forums for the last 2 years complaining about GW. Well I guess now they get their version.

btw I'm glad to hear GW will be a round for a while.

Its more anoying that it is impossible to sell/buy stuff, than the fact that there are spammers -thats just what happens without auction houses.

Anyhow I've read the PC gamer article. AND there was no mention of crafting, can anyone comfirm anything? I hope there will be crafting, i haven;t read anyone say there will be or wont be crafting

Well that's just it, most people whining aren't doing so in defense of the current game, but in defense of their own interests. Transferring armour, weapons and character over into the new game? Isn't that like typing in a cheat code that gives you max gold, armour and level at the beginning of a game? Where's the fun in that?

To me, the only downside is the level cap (and the 2 years wait). I have 8 max level characters right now, all from a different class and with different armours. I won't be able to do that in GW2, I'll have to stick with one, maybe two character unless I want to grind.

naa sorry but there was no rage it was more like a dissapointment, perhaps you should readmy other posts following that one. And unfortuantley you will get a lot of people leaving in the next 2 -3 years until new content arrives, some will leave sooner then others. From night fall until 2010 with no new content( gwen is more like an update not an expansion in my eyes) a lot of people will move on to other games. When 2 comes out some of us might try it out unless we are hooked on someother mmo for the time being.

Writing posts that include constructive criticism is one thing. Whining is something else entirely, but I'm pretty sure a lot of people on this forums don't understand this at all.
Anyway, you want to carry cour characters over, even though the new game will most likely have a different/altered system? WHY?
Because you're attched to them, well, I guess I could understand that. I've played GW for one and a half years now and I really like my girls. But what's stopping me from creating their "heirs" in GW2?
Because you can't carry your "achievments" over? Oh please, that's just pathetic. Okay, you like what you have now, but do you really have to whine and whine because something that isn't worth anything anyway will be gone in the other "world" that GW2 is? It'll still be there in GW as long as the servers are there and even afterwards you still know what you've "accomplished".

Or are you whining because playing the game seems pointless to you now? (Some people definitely seem to think so, re: all the "I was excited about GWEN, but now it's all useless and I already deleted GW" posts) I tell you something: The only point this game has ever had (unless you're part of one of the top guilds who earn a "bit" of money) is having fun.
Are you having fun playing now? Then keep playing, enjoy the game, have a great time!
What? You're not having fun, but you're playing anyway to get titles/armours/whatever? Pathetic.

You say GW isn't worth playing because it'll end? Are you saying a book isn't worth reading because it'll end? A pen&paper RPG isn't worth playing because it'll end? Live isn't worth living because it'll end?

To the "but anet promised more chapters for GW than we'll get now!" people:
Yes, you're probably right and you have a point. It's not you I'm complaining about. I think it's debatable wether or not we'll profit more from a totally new game or more and more expansions to an old one (that might or might not destroy the balance etc.), but that's beside the point that I'm trying to make in this specific post.

To the "it's more pathetic to whine about whiners than to whine":
I don't want to sound like I'm whining and I appologize if I came across as whining. But consider this: I just can't understand the people I call "whiners" here, but I'd like to. Any explanation they've given so far has only made me want to scream in frustration because they seem so ignorant. It's said the world is full of stupid people, but I just don't want to believe there's so much stupidity here on this board. (Yes, I know, I should just quit it and believe it... stupid idealism.) I want one good answer, even if I have to be somewhat provocative to - maybe, maybe - get it.
